Peter Pan
Every Sunday I’m posting a photograph of an iconic building, location or view in London. As a tour guide, I take great pleasure in showing these world famous sights to visitors and this weekly blog series will serve as a virtual extension of my guided walks.
An iconic figure of children’s literature, Peter Pan has become one of the most famous fictional characters associated with London. While George Frampton’s sculpture in Kensington Gardens is often highlighted, this lesser well known bronze version of J.M. Barrie’s creation can be found outside the main entrance of Great Ormond Street Hospital in Bloomsbury. M
Fun fact: Did you know that in 1929 J. M. Barrie gifted all the rights of Peter Pan to Great Ormond Street Hospital?
